How to manage custom playlists to remove songs, rename or delete playlists?
Q: How to manage custom playlists to remove songs, rename or delete playlists?
A:Launch your Globluum MP3 player. On the player's home screen, tap the music app icon to open HiBy Music, then follow the steps below to remove tracks from playlists, rename playlists, or delete unused custom playlists.
🗑️ Option 1: Remove songs from a playlist
- Open the custom playlist you want to edit.
• Remove one song: Long press the song → select "Remove from Playlist".
• Remove multiple songs: Tap the multiselect icon (≡) at the top → check the songs you want to remove → tap the "Remove" button at the bottom.
⚠️ Limit: You can remove up to 500 songs in one batch. If you select more, the app will show a warning and will not proceed.
✅ Removing a song only takes it out of this playlist. The original music file on your device remains untouched.
✏️ Option 2: Rename a playlist
- Go back to the Playlist home page (the list of all your playlists).
- Long press the playlist name you want to rename.
○ If long press does not work, tap the V-shaped dropdown arrow next to the playlist and select "Rename".
- Enter a new name (max 40 characters), then confirm.
✅ The change takes effect immediately – no extra save step needed.
🗑️ Option 3: Delete a custom playlist
- On the Playlist home page, long press the playlist you want to delete → select "Delete Playlist" → confirm.
⚠️ Built-in system playlists such as Favorites and Recently Played cannot be deleted.
⚠️ Deletion is permanent. The song grouping information is lost, but your local audio files are completely unaffected.
💡 If you have logged into your HiBy Music account and enabled cloud sync, you can restore a deleted playlist (log in on the same account → Settings → Sync).
📌 Tips
Q: How do I clear an entire playlist (remove all songs)?
A: Follow these steps:
- Open the custom playlist you want to clear.
- Tap the multiselect icon (≡) at the top to enter selection mode.
- Tap "Select All" (if available). If the playlist has more than 500 songs, manually select songs in batches of up to 500.
- Tap the "Remove" button at the bottom.
- If the playlist exceeds 500 songs, repeat steps 3–4 until all songs are removed.
⚠️ Clearing a playlist does not delete the original music files on your device – it only removes the song references from that playlist.
Q: Can I recover a playlist after accidentally deleting it?
A: It depends on whether you have enabled cloud backup:
• ✅ With cloud backup: If you logged into your HiBy Music account and enabled playlist sync, you can restore it. Log in to the same account → go to Settings → Sync.
• ❌ Without cloud backup: Recovery is impossible. The playlist and all song grouping information will be permanently lost, but your local audio files remain safe.
💡 Strong recommendation: Log into your HiBy Music account and enable playlist sync. This is the best way to prevent data loss from accidental deletion or device changes.
