What’s a flawless face without a soundtrack?

I don’t know about you, but when I sit down in front of the mirror with my brushes and palettes, I need music. Not just any music – something that makes me feel pretty, confident, and just a little bit rebellious.

Silence? That’s how you end up with a lifeless look. No soul.

GRWM soundtrack

So I built this playlist. It’s the exact 10 songs I play every time I do my makeup – from primer to setting spray. Press play, and watch yourself transform into the main character of your own little movie.

Here it is – my “Get Ready With Me” soundtrack.

🎧 10 songs to put on while you put on your face

  1. Nothing – Bruno Major
  2. Butterfly – UMI
  3. Caffeine – Lolo Zouai
  4. 10kHours – Jhené Aiko & Nas
  5. Everyday,Everyday – Manila Killa & Nevve
  6. abcdefu – GAYLE
  7. Bad Ideas – Tessa Violet
  8. Sway – Tove Styrke
  9. Dreams – Fleetwood Mac
  10. Famous – Sophie Rose

Search them up on Spotify or Apple Music. Add them to a new playlist. Then grab your mirror.

💋 Why these 10? Let me walk you through the ritual.

1. Nothing – Bruno Major
Warm, gentle guitar. His voice like a hug. This is for the very first step – washing your face, patting it dry, sitting down. It says: “You have time. Enjoy this.”

2. Butterfly – UMI
Soft R&B, airy and light. UMI sings about growing into yourself. That’s exactly what makeup is – not hiding, but becoming a more colorful version of you. Great for moisturizer and primer.

3. Caffeine – Lolo Zouai
The title says it all. A little jolt, a little bounce. This is when you open your eyeshadow palette and pick your first color. Not too hyper, not too sleepy – just right for steady hands.

4. 10kHours – Jhené Aiko & Nas
A smooth, thoughtful track. It reminds me that practice makes perfect – those 10,000 hours of winged eyeliner finally paying off. Jhené’s voice is pure butter. Perfect for foundation and blending.

5. Everyday,Everyday – Manila Killa & Nevve
Light electronic, a soft future‑bass beat. This keeps your energy up without demanding attention. While you work on your crease or your contour, this plays in the background like a gentle cheerleader.

6. abcdefu – GAYLE
Now we get spicy. This is for the bold step – a sharp wing, a red lip, or that glitter topper. It’s angry in a fun way. You’re not actually mad, but you feel powerful. Sing along if you want.

7. Bad Ideas – Tessa Violet
“I got bad ideas” – yes, like that neon green eyeliner you’ve been scared to try. This song gives you permission to be a little reckless. Confidence in pop form.

8. Sway – Tove Styrke
Swedish pop perfection. The beat makes you want to move side to side. This is for the finishing touches – highlighter on your cheekbones, a final fluff of your lashes. Look at yourself and sway.

9. Dreams – Fleetwood Mac
A classic. Stevie Nicks is your fairy godmother. When this comes on, you’re not just getting ready – you’re in a vintage ad. Spray your setting mist, tousle your hair, and feel timeless.

10. Famous – Sophie Rose
The closer. “I’ma be famous” – for what? For looking this good. For feeling this good. This is the song you listen to when you take that final mirror selfie. You’re ready. The world can see you now.

When should you play this?

  • Any morning you have at least 15 minutes for your face
  • Before a date, a night out, or even just a Zoom call where you want to feel like yourself
  • When you’re feeling a little low and need a boost – the music will lift you before the mascara does

Don’t play it when you’re in a rush. You’ll waste the good vibes. Save it for the days you can actually enjoy the process.

🎀 Pro tip for the best experience

Put your phone face‑down. Turn off notifications – no buzzes, no dings. Use a decent speaker or your best headphones. The bass in “abcdefu” and the warmth in “Nothing” deserve to be heard properly.

Adjust the volume so you can still hear your brushes tap against the palette. That little clink? That’s part of the rhythm.

And whatever you do – don’t skip “Dreams.” It’s illegal.
