Can You Transfer Music from iTunes to an MP3 Player?

Many users have the same question:

“I have a lot of music in iTunes or Apple Music. Can I transfer it directly to my Globluum MP3 player?”

The answer is: In most cases, yes, but not all music can be transferred directly.

Whether you can transfer the music mainly depends on three factors:

  • Whether the actual music file is stored on your computer;
  • Whether the music is protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management);
  • Whether the music format is supported by your Globluum player.

Simply put:

Actual music file + No DRM protection + Supported format = Usually transferable directly.

Q1. Can I transfer music from iTunes to Globluum?

Yes, but not all music in iTunes can be transferred directly.

Music that can usually be transferred includes:

  • iTunes Store music without DRM protection;
  • Music ripped from CDs and saved on your computer;
  • Local MP3, AAC, and other supported music files already stored on your computer;
  • Other music files supported by Globluum.

Please note:

A song appearing in your iTunes or Apple Music library does not necessarily mean that the actual music file is stored on your computer.

You need to find an actual music file that you can open and copy, such as Song.mp3 or Song.aac.

Q2. Why can't I transfer songs downloaded from Apple Music directly to the player?

Songs downloaded through an Apple Music subscription are typically protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) and therefore cannot be copied directly to a Globluum player and played like a regular MP3 file.

Even if you can see the downloaded Apple Music files on your computer, this does not mean they can be copied directly to another player for playback.

What about music purchased from the iTunes Store?

Music purchased from the iTunes Store is different from music downloaded through an Apple Music subscription.

Music purchased today is generally no longer protected by DRM, but some older purchases may still be protected by FairPlay DRM.

Therefore, what really matters is:

Whether the music file is currently protected by DRM.

Q3. Can iTunes music formats be transferred to Globluum?

Yes, but you need to check the music file format first.

Globluum players support:

MP3, WAV, FLAC, APE, OGG, AAC, and WMA

If your music is in one of these formats and is not protected by DRM, it can usually be transferred directly.

If the music format is not supported but the file is not protected by DRM, you can use a reputable audio conversion tool to convert it to a format supported by Globluum, such as MP3.

⚠️ Please note: Changing the file extension does not actually convert the file format.

For example:Song.wav → Song.mp3

This only changes the file name; it does not actually change the format of the music file.

How can I check the music file format?

Windows: Right-click the file → Properties → Check “File type.”

Mac: Right-click the file → Get Info → Check “Kind.”

Q4. How do I find music files in iTunes or Apple Music?

Once you find the actual music file, you can copy it to your Globluum player.

Windows

Find the song in iTunes:

Right-click the song → Show in Windows Explorer

Windows will open the folder where the music file is located.

Mac

On newer versions of macOS, music is managed through the Apple Music app.

In Apple Music, select the song:

File → Show in Finder

Finder will open the location of the music file.

Once you find the music file:

  1. Connect your Globluum player to your computer;
  2. Open the Globluum player folder displayed on your computer;
  3. Copy the music file to the player.

Q5. What should I do if I still can’t transfer or play the music?

Please check:

  • Whether the music file is actually stored on your computer;
  • Whether the music is protected by DRM;
  • Whether the music format is supported by Globluum.
